Cyberduck Help / Howto / Greenqloud
GreenQloud is the world's first truly green public compute cloud. It only uses renewable energy and has opened its first availability zone in Iceland. GreenQloud is a drop in replacement for Amazon's EC2 (Compute Qloud™) and S3 services (Storage Qloud™) and can therefore be used as an S3 compatible storage.
Storage Qloud™ also has a management console that can be used in conjuction with Cyberduck.
Connecting
Download the GreenQloud Connection Profile for preconfigured settings.
Alternatively, use s.greenqloud.com for the hostname in Open Connection or Bookmark settings with a S3 protocol selection.
To sign in you need to use your GreenQloud API Key as the Username and your Secret Key as the Password. You can find your API and Secret keys in the Account Information section in the GreenQloud management console. See also these screenshots of the process.
Limitations
- No bucket location support (All data is stored in Iceland. Other availability zones in the future)
- No bucket logging configuration (Statistics and graphs are available in the management console)
- Storage class options are not available. (a.k.a. reduced redundancy option)
- Torrent URLs are not supported
- No content distribution (CDN) configuration (However being physically located between N-America and Europe reduces the need for a CDN for those markets)
Please report any incompatibilities you encounter and provide feedback if you are a customer of GreenQloud. Storage Qloud™ specific support tickets can be sent through the GreenQloud Community Support page.
